Mr. Clarence Wesley is a Principal Advisor with Xenith Mobility Group and brings 25 years of executive management and operating skills with a focus on technology, mobile media and telecommunications(TMT). Clarence has front-line experience across a 360 degree range of functions, including: R&D, engineering, marketing, sales, strategy and business development — as well as P&L responsibility as a corporate general manager and C-Level executive in new ventures.
Clarence has worked with or for some of the largest brands in the world, such as: AAA, Apple, AT&T, General Motors, IBM, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo, Symantec, Triple Five Group, Vodafone and Xerox as well as cutting edge new ventures in the mobile space such as Pandora and New Venture Partners.
Clarence has experience in almost all aspects of the mobile ecosystem including: operators, handset manufacturers, wireless security, vertical application services such as telematics and mobile payments as well as consumer-oriented smartphone Apps.
Earlier in his career, Clarence was the founder and general manager of Xerox Mobile Solutions, a new venture within Xerox Corporation. Clarence was also a principal at Xerox PARC in its New Ventures Group and worked to develop new business concepts and commercialization strategies for corporate research and technology.
Preceding Xerox, he was the COO of NewtonSource Wireless, a mobile communications startup based in San Francisco. He was also a management consultant at Marakon Associates advising companies in Silicon Valley and Europe, a sales executive with IBM and a software engineer with EDS.
Clarence has an MBA from Harvard and a B.S.E. (Computer) from the University of Michigan. He is also an Adjunct Professor at University of Maryland Smith School of Business teaching strategy and innovation management.
Aside from his professional responsibilities and teaching, Clarence is an avid ice hockey player and enjoys exploring the many cultures of the world.
